Today was a great day. It's the red lipstick. FOH REALZ. (yeah I'm cool like that.)
I had the sweetest client come into work, and she was so fun! Totally brightened my day.
Plus. PLUS! These shoes are awesome.

Confession: I buy cheap shoes. All the time. And they always hurt. And I always end up giving them to Goodwill.
Confession Part Two: Never again. These were only like $20 more than I normally spend on shoes, and they're heavenly. No blisters after a full first day of wearing them. I'm in love.

I hope your weekend is as delightful as mine. It's Cocoa Latte time.

He's just SO pretty . . .

. . . and I get to hang out with him EVERY DAY.
Life is good.

Weekly Gratitude

Mill City Museum, Minneapolis

Here are some things that made my week happy:

--Sleep. Glorious sleep. If I could be an old lady and in bed by 9 every night, I'd be a happy camper.

--my new coffee mug from Goodwill with horses on it. Your handle is the perfect shape, and even though Zach mocked my love for you, once he picked you up, he, too, was amazed by your perfection,

--Spring. The fact that it has to come sometime (soon), right? . . . . Right?!

--The enormous spectrum of human life and experience. Zach and I saw a screening of Fela! last night at the Guthrie. Beauuuuuutiful. I think I need to go sign myself up for a dance class or two.

--Zach. For getting me free tickets to the Guthrie and for being oh-so-patient and loving. And pretty.

--The great people I worked with last weekend on the music video. What a fun, professional group of artists! I can't wait to finish filming and to see the final product!

--My upcoming show that starts rehearsals next month. I just finished reading the script this week and YEAH. I think it's going to be something special. I can't wait to sink my teeth into some theatre again!

It's the weekend, y'all. Do a dance.

Where Has All the Color Gone?

It's a neutral kind of day today. For my outfit, and for the sky. Mr. Sunshine chose not to grace us with his presence today. So 7:30 am looked basically the same as 3:00 pm.

I signed up for the 30 for 30! I think I can handle it. And I know my budget could TOTALLY handle a shopping break. Too bad I'm surrounded by pretty clothes all day at work.

The guy who lives downstairs is ROCKIN' OUT. Last night he was up until 11:00, just belting his little heart out. It made sleeping really fun. But right now, he's got the works. I hear some sort of beat, a keyboard, and he's definitely got a microphone. He's been attempting some Michael Jackson-esque falsetto whoops. Just fantastic.

Cardigan: Ann Taylor  Tunic: Target  Belt: ??  Pants: Ann Taylor  Shoes: Target
Yeah. My eyes are definitely closed. It was early.
Come back tomorrow for my Weekly Gratitude, and get ready for the epic-ness that will be my 30 for 30!

Edit: Right after I made this post, I found this on The Daily What.  Awesome.

The Best of Intentions

I fully intended to wear heels today. And to exude all the sass that comes with wearing heels. But somewhere between the time I went to bed last night and the time I woke up this morning, I twisted my ankle. Maybe I was running a dream marathon. In heels.

So before I even left the house, I was in flats. But still exuding sass.

I'm trying to muster up the courage to do the 30 for 30.  I can do it, right?
Man up, Lindsay. They're just clothes.

I'd better go sign up before I chicken out.

Weekend Madness

We had such a great weekend filming the music video! We were working with the Lenstory Films team to create a video for "Yourspace" by The Brutes.
It was such a great experience, and I am so grateful to have been a part of it. Everyone was so awesome to work with; and having done a film with the group in the fall, I was really looking forward to working with them again. We had a great group of extras/dancers (Zach among them), and my acting partner, Bengi, was so fun to work with. I can't wait to see the finished product!
The hair/makeup people were incredible, and they made me look like a rock star. I felt pretty freakin' hot.

Here's Zach looking all classy and whatnot. What a stud.

I got little crazy colored extension clips in my hair!

Halfway through the shoot today, Zach and I realized it was our anniversary. And we had BOTH forgotten it with all the craziness. So now we're off to create something delicious and bacon-filled for dinner. What a perfect weekend.

Weekly Gratitude

Summer visit in Chillicothe with Beatus . . . is it summer yet?!

This week FLEW by! It feels like I was just sitting here writing about last week's blessings. Well, THIS week, I am thankful for:

--Snow-covered Wisconsin. My drive back to the Twin Cities on Sunday was just beautiful. Long stretches of highway with just nothing but white hills and trees.

--Phil from Modern Family. So splendidly awkward and wonderful. "That's coconuts. You're super delightful."

--Having enough time in the morning to drink my coffee peacefully while I read blogs.

--All the blogs I read. They're all so unique and put a smile on my face every morning.

--My wonderful evening with Beatus. I never ever get tired of seeing my friends.

--Long underwear. For helping me brave the wind chill to walk to work every day.

--All of the audition opportunities I've had this week. I'm finally getting back into the swing of things and out of my acting rut.

--Again, my trusty car, Sid. For loving me even when I blast epic music and sing along really loudly, and for coming through (usually) in this bitter cold weather.

It's FRIDAY! Have a lovely weekend! Zach and I are going to be shooting a music video with Lenstory Films (check out their film "Not My Midnight" on the home page. I'm in that!). I can't wait to share the experience with you, so check back soon!

Baby Camera Can't Stand Up Vertically

Today I realized that my apartment isn't all that photo-worthy. I love our space and how we've decorated it, but it doesn't really provide for good outfit photo backgrounds. Which, of course, isn't what I had in mind when I decorated, so I'm not too broken up about it.
I eventually settled on the couch.

I'm still there.

What's that? You're marveling over the beauteous-ness of my scarf? It's from London. My angel friend, Beatus, brought it back for me.

Scarf: gift  Top: Ann Taylor  Skirt: Old Navy  Socks: Target  Boots: TJ Maxx  Belt: thrifted  Earrings: F21

See you tomorrow for my Weekly Gratitude! I'll still be here. On the couch.

Outfit from the Past

Zach is back in school. And my camera hasn't grown, so . . . outfit pictures are adjusting this week. I promise they'll be back! I just have to figure out how they're going to work from now on.

I found these pictures of an outfit I once wore. In August.
They're from back before we owned a full length mirror, and I needed to take pictures of myself in PhotoBooth to make sure I looked like a functioning human being in the morning. I'm not kidding.

I think I remember trying on like 10 outfits this day, because I was meeting some of Zach's extended family. I'm pretty sure this was the final decision.

Owl Necklace: F21  Blue Cardi, Floral Top, Jeans: thrifted

And sadly, no Awkward Outtake! My most sincere apologies. Please bear with me, as posting will be a little wonky this week. I'm having so much fun with this blog, and I hope you are too!

Ponytail Girl

You guys, my hair is in a ponytail.
This is a big deal. My hair hasn't fit into a ponytail since . . . 2008.
Today's ponytail took a lot of bobby pins and hairspray, but it's still a ponytail. And that's something.

I know I wore this scarf in the last post . . . and this red sweater a few days ago. But c'mon. I'm living out of a floral carpet bag for the week. And they're cute.
Today is my last day on the home front, and then it's back to the city and Zach for me. It was so nice to be able to come home and relax with my family and enjoy their company instead of running errands the whole time.  I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things though, starting with my callback tomorrow night!

P.S. Thanks to my freaking awesome sister for taking my photos this week!

Weekly Gratitude

It's Weekly Gratitude time again! And I have so much to be thankful for this week. Here are just a few:

--my wonderful, amazing family for spending a wonderful, amazing week with me.

--my new Chapstick for staying in the exact shape I like it.

--friendships that kick the butts of time and distance.

--my sister and Amy Love, for putting up with my various expressions of frustration when it came to photo issues: muttering to myself, sighing, yelling, growling, etc.

--the electric blanket on my bed at home, for making bedtime so so cozy.

--my trusty car, Sid, for toughing out all the long distance traveling I use her for.

--my parents' coffee. For some reason it's always better than what I can make.

--Mario Kart. For being a traditional activity that I never get tired of.

Happy Weekend!

The Photo Editing Blues

Today's photo alignment brought to you by:
Eight hours of my precious sweat and frustrated tears.
You'd think it would be simple to just set two vertical photos next to each other. But, no. Any of you lovelies have any simple solutions (that don't include Picnik, who is currently on my naughty list)?

There's a version of this scarf being sold at work right now for close to 60 buckaroos. It's beautifully made, but my $60 is better spent on roast chicken flavor ramen. So I found this one at H&M yesterday for $3. Success.

Don't forget to come back and check out my Weekly Gratitude tomorrow!

Friend Day

I think every day should be Friend Day. Just sayin'. I got to see two close friends today; close friends that distance keeps me from seeing very often. And it was just delightful. I love having delightful friends.

Today's outfit was a comfy fallback, but it's not quite my favorite. I can't wait to showcase this white blouse in a better way, because it's so fun and pretty. Once I have my full closet back, I'll give it its due.
It feels like my week at home is going too quickly, but I'm getting some good quality time in. I'm considering it my last break before I hit the ground running for 2011. As soon as I get back I have a callback and a music video shoot, and then there is no more rest for Lindsay! Intentionally. I need to rid myself of this post-graduation rut that has gone on for far too long. Productivity is the name of the game.
Look out, 2011, Lindsay is a force to be reckoned with!

Have a Friend Day soon. It makes life fun and worth it.

Home Sweet Home

I'm home in Wisconsin for the week, and boy does it feel good. A whole week with no rushing around to see everyone and do everything. It's glorious. I love being able to just sit and watch TV with my brother and sister and play Mario Kart with everyone at night.

It's a winter wonderland here today, and my fabulous sister agreed to take my pictures. Her boyfriend took us out for breakfast this morning, which was heavenly, and tonight I get to go watch my stud of a brother play basketball.
As much as I love having my own city life, I love being home. I love it. There's no place quite like it, and there never will be.

Sweater: Target  Striped Shirt, Pants: Ann Taylor   Socks: Target  Boots: Charlotte Russe

Call your family today! Or if they're close, give them all a nice big hug.
